Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Sports Service: The national football teams of Afghanistan and Pakistan are scheduled to face each other on Thursday (October 9) in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad.
The Afghanistan Football Federation said it had sent the initial list of members of the national football team to the Pakistani embassy on September 18, but despite repeated follow-ups and official contacts, visas have not been issued to the players and members of the national football team so far.
The federation added that the Afghan national football team players must travel to Pakistan from European countries, Australia, the United States, Canada and Asian countries.
The Afghanistan Football Federation said in a statement that the failure to issue visas on time has disrupted the plans made.
The federation added that this will also mean that if visas are issued, the country's players will face the host team without training sessions and preparation.
The Afghan national football team is in Group "A" of the third round of the Asian Cup qualifiers with the teams of Syria, Myanmar and Pakistan.
The country's national football team has lost to Syria and Myanmar in its two previous matches.
