Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The meeting was held in Moscow today (Tuesday) with the participation of representatives of regional countries and Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki.
The participants of the meeting called for the development of Afghanistan's trade and economic exchanges with regional countries and the international community and expressed their interest in developing joint projects in the fields of health, agriculture, combating poverty and preventing natural disasters. They also welcomed Afghanistan's active participation in the regional cooperation system.
In the statement, the parties announced their readiness to continue humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan and called on the international community to increase its urgent assistance. It was also emphasized that politicizing this assistance is unacceptable.
The participants of the meeting considered terrorism a serious threat to the security of Afghanistan, the region and the world and called for strengthening anti-terrorism cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels. They emphasized that Afghanistan should be supported in taking comprehensive measures to combat terrorism so that the country does not become a platform for security threats to other countries.
In another part of the statement, the important role of regional mechanisms in resolving Afghanistan's issues was emphasized and the countries that bear the main responsibility for the current situation in Afghanistan were called to adhere to their commitments in the field of economic reconstruction and sustainable development of the country.
According to Sputnik, the participants also considered the efforts of some countries to establish military infrastructure in Afghanistan and neighboring countries to be contrary to the interests of regional peace and stability and called it unacceptable.
It is worth noting that the Moscow format meeting hosted a representative of the Islamic Emirate for the first time. On the sidelines of this meeting, meetings were held between the country's Foreign Minister and representatives of the participating countries, including the Russian Foreign Minister.
