Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Gaza Ministry of Public Health announced: What is happening in the Gaza Strip is not a humanitarian crisis or merely a passing description of the long history of crimes committed by the Israeli occupiers; rather, it represents the complete and deliberate collapse of the foundation of human existence. For 730 days, the healthcare system has been subjected to devastating and deadly attacks that have destroyed the fabric of its services and infrastructure. Given the catastrophic indicators that have destroyed the medical and humanitarian landscape in the Gaza Strip, these crimes have earned the description of genocide.
In view of this, and after two years of genocidal war, we note the following:
The total number of martyrs is 67,173 and the number of injured is 169,780. Among the martyrs, 2,779 are children, 10,427 are women, 4,813 are elderly and 31,754 are men.
The number of medical personnel martyred is 1,701 and 362 are in detention under conditions of enforced disappearance and detention and deprivation of human rights.
25 out of 38 hospitals are out of operation, while 13 are still partially functioning and in difficult conditions. The occupiers have also destroyed 103 out of 157 primary health care centers, while 54 are partially functioning.
The interruption of regular supplies of medical equipment, the prevention of their safe entry into hospitals and the increase in the number of injured and dead have exacerbated the crisis of shortage of medicines and medical equipment in vital sectors. 55% of medicines, 66% of medical supplies and 68% of laboratory equipment are currently unavailable.
Hospital bed occupancy rates rose to 225% by the end of last September, compared to 82% in the same period last year. This is catastrophic given the increase in admissions and critical injuries.
Direct targeting of health facilities has destroyed electrical and electromechanical systems. The occupiers destroyed 25 of 35 oxygen stations and 61 of 110 generators.
According to UN classifications, the level of famine in the Gaza Strip has reached critical levels. 460 deaths from hunger and malnutrition have been recorded, including 154 children, while 51,196 children under the age of five continue to suffer from severe malnutrition.
The overcrowding of citizens in the falsely labeled “humanitarian” forced assembly areas has exacerbated their health and humanitarian conditions, with the lack of basic necessities leading to the spread of disease, the lack of clean drinking water supplies, and the deprivation of food resources.
The lack of routine and emergency vaccinations has led to a reduction in childhood vaccination coverage to 80 percent. In addition, the fourth phase of preventive polio vaccination has been suspended, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks and threatening to fail the previous phases.
4,900 amputations and disabilities require supportive equipment and long-term rehabilitation programs.
The closure of the crossing to the movement of the sick and injured has prevented 18,000 patients from traveling abroad for treatment, including 5,580 children.
To this day, medical personnel in Gaza City continue to perform their humanitarian and national duty, despite the dangers that surround them and pose a direct threat to their safety and the safety of the injured.
We call on all relevant parties to fully play their role in providing emergency interventions to ensure the delivery of medical equipment and healthcare, criminalize the continued weakening of the remaining health care system by the occupiers, protect the rights of the sick and injured to receive medical treatment, and ensure the safety of medical and emergency teams.
Meanwhile, the Gaza State Information Office announced that the Israeli regime orphans 77 children every day, widows 29 married women, and causes 16 pregnant women to abort their babies every day.
