Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum issued a press release saying that Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of the ministry, met with Zhani Bek Taizanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Sharkhan Iran, Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction, and a number of other Kazakh officials.
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum says that during this meeting, strengthening relations, bilateral trade, geological exploration, and other related issues were discussed.
The ministry added that the Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan said that a number of Kazakh mining companies want to invest in Afghanistan’s mineral resources, including gold and copper.
On the other hand, the Deputy Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan has proposed the construction of a railway line from Turgandi to Herat Province in exchange for the exploitation of mines, led by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum welcomed their interest in investing and assured that he would cooperate with them on mining laws and procedures.
