Arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant remain active in The Hague
A spokesman for the International Criminal Court said yesterday evening that US pressure and sanctions have not prevented the judicial body from carrying out its duty to execute arrest warrants against Israeli officials.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Fadi Al-Abdullah, spokesman for the International Criminal Court, said on Wednesday (October 8): "There are active arrest warrants against [Benjamin] Netanyahu [Israeli Prime Minister] and [Youf] Gallant [Israeli former Minister of War], and the investigation is still ongoing."

In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Al-Abdullah explained: "Palestine has granted the International Criminal Court the authority to investigate crimes committed by Israel on its territory or against its citizens in other countries."

He said that the use of starvation as a weapon of war was one of the main reasons for issuing the arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, adding: “We were not influenced by US pressure and sanctions after our decision against Israel.”

Al Jazeera reported that a spokesperson for the International Criminal Court said: “We do not have the military or police forces to arrest the indictees and we call on the states parties to the Rome Statute to do so.”
