Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Mazar-e-Sharif: Maulvi Lal Mohammad Rashid, the head of the Jawzjan Provincial Education Department, emphasizing the need to eradicate illiteracy and raise awareness in the community, said: The purpose of launching literacy courses is to provide an educational environment for illiterate people and strengthen their ability to read and write.
He acknowledged that 48 literacy courses were held for women and 6 other courses for men in the center, and the remaining courses were held in ten districts of Jawzjan province with the participation of 3,947 applicants, and internally displaced persons have also benefited from these courses.
Maulvi Rashid added: The duration of the literacy courses is 9 months and graduates receive a fourth grade certificate after passing the exam and can then join schools.
Also, the beneficiaries of these courses stated that their lives have changed and they have now acquired the ability to read and write.
It is worth noting that the Jawzjan Provincial Education Department is trying to increase literacy courses in the province, especially in deprived areas.
