Anti-American protests by the Labaik Movement in Pakistan turn violent
Following widespread anti-American protests by supporters of the Labaik Movement in Lahore and Islamabad, violent clashes have occurred between protesters and police forces; local sources report that dozens of protesters have been killed and injured and that the internet has been cut off in the country's capital for the second consecutive day.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The security situation in the cities of Lahore and Islamabad, as well as the highway between these two cities, remains tense, and the Labaik Movement group has announced that it will continue its protests to the US embassy in the Pakistani capital.

The protesters call the protests solidarity with Palestine, however, the Pakistani government holds the protesters responsible for rioting, threatening people, and clashes with police forces.

Pakistani state media and other news networks in the country did not report any details of possible casualties in the protests, but they report that protesters clashed with police forces, damaged government and public property, and created fear and panic.

Meanwhile, Farooq Hassan Qadri, a member of the Labbaik Movement council, claimed that 11 protesters were killed and 50 others were injured in police firing. He added that the condition of 20 of the injured was critical.

It was also reported that the internet in Islamabad and its surrounding areas was down for the second consecutive day and all roads leading to the city were blocked. Pakistani authorities said that they would not allow any group or individual to violate the law or hold demonstrations.
