Diplomats in all Pakistani cities have tried to solve the problems of Afghan refugees
Officials from the Afghan Refugee Affairs Department in Pakistan say that diplomats and representatives of the Islamic Emirate in all cities of Pakistan have made continuous efforts to address the problems of Afghan refugees.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates said in a statement that Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the Minister of Refugees and Repatriates, met with officials of the Afghan Refugee Affairs Department in Pakistan in his office.

According to the statement, representatives of the Refugee Affairs Department presented a comprehensive report on the situation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, legal, residence challenges and difficulties in their return to the country. They also made suggestions to improve the performance of Afghan consular offices, speed up the documentation process and adjust the work structure of staff.

According to the agency, diplomats and representatives of the Islamic Emirate across Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar, in coordination with local Pakistani institutions, have worked to solve the problems of migrants, issue documents, relocate families and provide return facilities.

The Minister of Refugee Affairs appreciated the efforts of the representatives of the Islamic Emirate in Pakistan and cooperation with local institutions and said that the Islamic Emirate will use all its capacities to serve the refugees.

Furthermore, proposals for accommodation and shelter for returnees have also been discussed with the Minister.

"Returnees and compatriots living abroad were forced to migrate to preserve their religion and Islamic values and the Islamic Emirate is obliged to support them properly," Maulvi Abdul Kabir said.

In recent weeks, thousands of Afghan migrant families have reportedly returned to the country from various cities in Pakistan, especially from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.

Local sources say Afghan embassies in Pakistan, in collaboration with charities and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), are arranging documentation, registration and immediate assistance for the returnees.

Meanwhile, diplomatic sources in Islamabad said that negotiations are underway between representatives of the two countries on extending the stay of undocumented migrants and arranging their voluntary return.

Observers believe that the new movement in the activities of Afghan embassies in Pakistan shows that the Islamic Emirate is trying to improve its working and humanitarian relations with Islamabad in the field of refugees.
Despite recent pressure from the Pakistani government to deport undocumented migrants, close cooperation between the two sides could prevent a humanitarian crisis at the borders, the survey shows.
According to experts, the continuation of such meetings and diplomatic coordination plays an important role in managing regular returns, preserving the dignity of migrants and preventing potential abuses.
