Al-Sudani: Iraq will boycott Sharm el-Sheikh summit if Netanyahu attends
The Iraqi official news agency reported that the country's Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, has warned that if Benjamin Netanyahu attends the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, Iraq will withdraw from the summit.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Iraqi official news agency (WAA) announced this afternoon (Monday) citing a high-ranking government source that Al-Sudani informed both the Egyptian and American sides on Monday that Iraq's participation in the Sharm el-Sheikh summit is contingent on the Israeli prime minister's absence, and that this is "Iraq's firm position."

The source emphasized that initially, no official invitation had been issued by Cairo for Netanyahu to attend, but US President Donald Trump made efforts to have him attend the meeting in a telephone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi today, and finally the Egyptian presidential office announced that Netanyahu would attend the meeting.

According to the Iraqi official, the positions of some participating countries were similar to Baghdad's position, which is what caused Trump's attempt to invite Netanyahu to fail.

Simultaneously with this report, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced, without providing an explanation, that Netanyahu's trip to Sharm el-Sheikh had been canceled.

The Sharm el-Sheikh meeting is a special meeting that is scheduled to be held today in the Egyptian coastal city of Sharm el-Sheikh to discuss the prospects for ending the war in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the reconstruction of the region.

The meeting will be chaired by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
