Baqaei: Iran supports stopping the genocide in Gaza
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that the Islamic Republic has always supported any action that would end the killing and genocide in Gaza, and noted that the events of October 7 “did not occur in a vacuum.”
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Ismail Baqaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said today (Sunday, October 12) in a conversation with reporters about Iran’s position on the Gaza crisis: “Iran’s position has been very clear in two official statements; we have always supported any move and action that would lead to stopping the killing in Gaza.”

He added: “If you follow the course of Iran’s diplomatic actions in the past two years, our main goal has been to end the crime and killing, lift the cruel siege of Gaza, provide unhindered humanitarian aid, and withdraw the occupiers from this region.”

“We have called on several occasions for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and UN meetings to discuss this issue, and we have pursued these issues seriously in all bilateral consultations,” Baqaei continued.

Emphasizing the importance of immediately stopping the killings, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said, “Every day that the crimes stop is in the interest of the human community and humanity, because what has happened in the last two years has not only been a violation of international law, but also an attack on human ethics and principles.”

He also referred to the statement of the UN Secretary-General two years ago, adding, “October 7th did not happen in a vacuum. The context of the issue must always be considered; a nation has been deprived of its rights for 80 years, and until the right to self-determination of the Palestinians is realized, we cannot hope to resolve this crisis.”
