Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Abdullah Al-Danan, one of the leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, emphasized yesterday (Monday) that weapons are the red line of this Palestinian movement and that it is not willing to negotiate about it.
Al-Danan continued: Israel, which has tanks and fighter jets and uses them for genocide, must hand over its weapons, not those who resist with guns to defend themselves.
He also emphasized that regarding the prisoner exchange and ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, the Palestinian resistance showed great flexibility in order to save the lives of the people of Gaza.
A senior Hamas official recently stressed that the demand for disarmament, which was included in US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza, “is not up for discussion.”
The Hamas official said that talks on the issue of arms handover are out of the question.
The Israeli regime and Hamas signed an agreement in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, last Thursday that paves the way for an end to the two-year war in the Gaza Strip.
The agreement includes a ceasefire and an exchange of Israeli prisoners for Palestinian prisoners. However, the draft agreement made no mention of some of the points included in the Trump plan, including the disarmament of Hamas and the formation of an international transitional authority headed by Trump to govern Gaza.
Trump had previously said that the issue of handing over Hamas’s weapons would be considered as part of the second phase of the peace plan. However, Hamas has officially stated that the issue of resistance weapons is non-negotiable and that it will not lay down its weapons as long as the occupation continues.
Al-Danan continued, referring to the guarantees of Arab and Islamic countries and the United States regarding the withdrawal of the Israeli army and the lifting of the siege on Gaza, and stated that, based on the agreement reached under the supervision of Egypt, independent and nationalist figures are supposed to govern Gaza in the future.
Emphasizing that, based on the aforementioned agreement, the Zionist forced displacement and settlement plans will also be stopped, he stated: We have no problem with the Gaza Governing Committee being in coordination with Arab countries, and this issue is agreed upon by the resistance groups.
This resistance leader considered the resistance of the people of Gaza to be historical and legendary, and concluded by saying: Israel failed to achieve its goals. He also considered the current agreement to be the best agreement to stop the mass killings in Gaza and stop the settlement plans.
