China calls for addressing Pakistan and Afghanistan
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has called on the Islamic Emirate and Pakistan to maintain composure and restraint, taking into account their broader interests, and address each other's concerns through dialogue and consultation.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said in a press conference that the fundamental and long-term interests of Pakistan and Afghanistan lie in good neighborliness, pursuing economic and social prosperity, and jointly fighting terrorism.

He said that China is concerned about the new conflicts and increasing tensions in the relations between the Islamic Emirate and Pakistan, adding that the two countries are both friends of China and neighbors.

Lin Jian said: “China sincerely hopes that the two countries, taking into account major interests, maintain composure and restraint, properly address each other’s concerns through dialogue and consultation, avoid any escalation of tension, and strive for peace and stability in the two countries and the wider region.”

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said that China will continue to play a constructive role in improving relations between the two sides.

He also added that China has called on both countries to ensure the safety and security of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions.

The forces of the Islamic Emirate and Pakistan exchanged fire along the border areas for several hours on Saturday night.

The Islamic Emirate confirmed the martyrdom of nine selfless soldiers and Pakistan confirmed the death of 23 of its soldiers in the clash.

The clash occurred after Pakistan attacked targets in Kabul and Paktika on Thursday night last week and violated Afghan territory.

Following this conflict, various neighboring and regional countries called for restraint on both sides and for resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
