Muttaqi: All neighbors except Pakistan are satisfied with relations with the Islamic Emirate
Maulavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the country’s Foreign Minister, has stated that Afghanistan’s neighbors except Pakistan are satisfied with their relations with the Islamic Emirate; although relations with Islamabad are in a tense state.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister, has said that the Islamic Emirate does not want to engage in conflict with any neighboring country and that all the country’s neighbors except Pakistan are satisfied with the current state of their relations with the Islamic Emirate.

According to a report by the Financial Express today (Tuesday, October 14), Muttaqi, in response to border tensions, stated that if Pakistan does not want peace, the Islamic Emirate has other options.

At the same time, the media reported that high-ranking Pakistani officials, including the Defense Minister and the Director of the Pakistani Intelligence, have made official requests to visit the country and have applied for visas in the last three days; But these requests have been repeatedly rejected by the Islamic Emirate.

The Foreign Minister added that the Islamic Emirate seeks to maintain friendly relations among neighbors and to resolve border and political issues through dialogue and agreement; but emphasized that the country will never accept tension as the first option.

Recent reports by foreign and regional media indicate that in recent days, exchanges of fire and border clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces have increased.

Pakistan has reinforced its security forces near some border posts and claims that Afghanistan is harboring extremists (especially the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan / TTP).

On the diplomatic level, Amir Khan Mottaki’s visits to India and efforts to expand trade and diplomatic relations with regional countries, including Iran and China, have increased significantly; this may be one of the reasons for Pakistan’s discomfort.

Political analysts believe that these pious positions are an attempt to shift the regional diplomatic balance. Studies show that the Islamic Emirate is eager to diversify its foreign relations and wants to force other countries to engage more.

Observers say that the relative complacency of neighbors other than Pakistan could provide opportunities for economic, trade and security cooperation; but without resolving border disputes and security issues related to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, these tensions could still prevent mutual trust and the desired stability.
