Iran is a pioneer in supporting the rights and dignity of Afghan refugees worldwide
Speakers at the “Servants of Empathy and Kindness” conference emphasized that supporting the rights of refugees, especially unaccompanied women, the sick, and those who have lived in Iran for years, is a human and religious duty, and that no individual’s dignity should be violated; they also called the Islamic Republic of Iran’s services to Afghan refugees unparalleled in the world and emphasized the need to observe fairness and accuracy in dealing with refugees.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mashhad: The “Servants of Empathy and Kindness” ceremony, with the slogan “Explaining the Hostess Model,” honored cultural activists, jihadi groups, and service organizations that have played an effective role in organizing and returning Afghan refugees and providing humanitarian and cultural services; the ceremony was held in the presence of officials from the Khorasan Razavi Governorate, the Governor of Taybad, and a group of managers of cultural institutions and associations serving Afghan refugees in the Mashhad Training Hall.

Yar-Ahmadi: Serving Afghan refugees is our human, religious and legal duty

At this ceremony, Yar-Ahmadi, Head of the Center for Foreign Nationals and Refugees Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Interior, emphasized the need to protect the dignity and rights of Afghan refugees and said: The services that the Islamic Republic of Iran provides to Afghan brothers and sisters are unparalleled in the world and we consider ourselves obligated to serve them.

Referring to the role of the Islamic Revolution in supporting the oppressed and oppressed nations, Yar-Ahmadi stated: Today, we stand on the path of defending the values of the Islamic Revolution and we thank God for the success of serving the people who have their hearts tied to Islam and the province.

Appreciating the cooperation of the people and officials of Khorasan Razavi in organizing the affairs of the refugees, he said: If this incident had happened in another province, perhaps it would not have been managed so well. The empathy of the people and the efforts of the officials caused the extraordinary situation to quickly return to normal. Khorasan Razavi has always been at the forefront in supporting the Afghan people's movement.

Referring to the difficulties of implementing laws in the current situation, Yarahmadi added: In implementing the law, we are obliged to observe justice; but simply implementing the law is not our goal. We must also uphold human dignity along with the law. Just as some laws are difficult for people in our own country, refugees must also be treated with tact and compassion.

Referring to negative propaganda in cyberspace about Afghan refugees, he emphasized: Unfortunately, some currents are trying to tarnish the image of refugees in public opinion, while the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided them with extensive services for years. For example, paying subsidies, allowing them to obtain certificates, and organizing residency plans are among the measures that are being pursued with seriousness.

Yarahmadi emphasized: We believe that no one should be deprived of their rights without reason. Unaccompanied migrant women, the sick, and those who have lived in this country for years must be supported. This is our human and religious duty, and we will not allow the dignity of any migrant to be violated.

He added: If there is a problem in the implementation of legal projects, migrants can contact us directly. My contact number is available to everyone and I am personally responsible for many cases. We are ready to cooperate with Afghan brothers and sisters to solve their problems.

The head of the Center for Citizens Affairs concluded: The world is in difficult conditions and no one is sure of their future. We may one day need help from others. Therefore, we must be extremely careful and fair in dealing with migrants. The services that the Islamic Republic of Iran provides to Afghan migrants are unparalleled in the world and we are proud of it.

With the sympathy of the institutions, the honorable return of Afghan refugees and hosting of Razavi pilgrims was successfully carried out

Seyedabadi, Head of the Foreign Nationals and Refugees Department of the Razavi Khorasan Governorate, while congratulating and thanking the servants of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran and welcoming the officials present, stated: Since the beginning of this year, we have had two important plans on our agenda, the first of which was the census and organization of Afghan refugees and the plan for their return to their country, which was started seriously and had significant results.

He added: During this national and major plan, a significant part of Afghan refugees returned to their country, and many institutions and organizations cooperated with us around the clock in this direction. The realization of the slogan "honorable return" would not have been possible without the cooperation of these groups.

The head of the Khorasan Razavi Citizens' Office continued by pointing to the second important step of this office and said: Given the circumstances in which some Afghan refugees were unable to participate in the Arbaeen ceremony this year, with the support of the respected governor and the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan, a plan was made to host Afghan pilgrims during the martyrdom days of Imam Reza (AS).

He added: By the grace of God and the efforts of jihadi groups and cultural institutions, a worthy hosting of the pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS) was carried out in the holy city of Mashhad, and this event demonstrated a beautiful manifestation of unity, cohesion and brotherhood between the two Muslim nations of Iran and Afghanistan.

Khorasan Razavi became a symbol of the honorable return of more than one million Afghan refugees

Shamqadri, Deputy Security Officer of the Khorasan Razavi Governorate, said at the ceremony: So far, more than one million Afghan refugees have returned to their country from this province, and more than 70 percent of these returns have taken place from the borders of Khorasan Razavi.

Shamqadri added that in one day, more than 350 buses from the Mashhad city fleet were allocated for the return of refugees, and provincial officials, in full compliance with the laws and principles of hosting, tried to avoid any concerns or legal problems for the refugees.

He continued: The visit of national and international representatives, including ministers, deputy ministers, and members of the National Security Commission of the Parliament, showed firsthand that the Islamic Republic of Iran, in cooperation with organizations and officials, has provided honorable hospitality for Afghan refugees.

Shamqadri also stated that Khorasan Razavi recorded an average daily return of 4,600 people, and this success was due to the complete coordination of government institutions, the municipality, the governorate, the police force, and other provincial officials.

In conclusion, he emphasized the importance of continuing these cooperations and the continuation of worthy hospitality, and called on the international community to translate support and demands into action and to practically pursue its human rights responsibilities towards Afghan refugees.

The Islamic Republic of Iran did not forget the Afghan nation in the most critical circumstances.

Hojjatoleslam wa Muslimeen Sayyed Javad Vahidi, head of the Cultural and Social Foundation of Afghans Living in Iran, referred to the deep bond between the nations of Iran and Afghanistan and said: I am happy to be present at this enlightened gathering that is pleasing to God; a gathering that pleases God Almighty and shows the solidarity of the Islamic Ummah. Nations that stand together in one line and on one front against global arrogance.

He added, paying homage to the soul of Imam Khomeini (RA): The late Imam extended a blessed journey and from the first days of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, with his powerful speeches, opened the arms of the Iranian system and nation to the suffering nation of Afghanistan. Today, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution continues the same path with compassion and wisdom.

The head of the Cultural and Social Foundation of Afghans Living in Iran emphasized: In the most critical period, when the Islamic Republic of Iran was under the most severe attacks and threats from the United States and the Zionist regime, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution was not even unaware of the situation of Afghan refugees. I can tell you with accurate information that during the 12-day war, his concern for Afghan refugees was quite palpable.

He continued: For 47 years now, as honored guests of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we have been living alongside the brotherly nation of Iran, sympathizing, speaking the same language, and accompanying each other. During these years, Afghan refugees have been able to grow in the scientific, cultural, and social fields. In the last two decades alone, more than 200,000 Afghans have been able to receive scholarships for higher education, and women have also made significant progress in this area.

Hojjatoleslam Vahidi added: Ensuring social security and organizing the residence of citizens is the indisputable right of every state and a sign of the rationality of the government. However, the Islamic Republic of Iran, despite pressures and restrictions, adopted a humane and generous approach to the massive influx of refugees after the recent developments in Afghanistan; an action that is unparalleled in the world.

He emphasized: The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been committed to preserving the dignity of the Afghan people. We have no objection to the legal organization of refugees and we believe that this action should be carried out with respect for human and Islamic dignity.

Referring to the media attacks against the relations between the two nations, Hojjatoleslam Vahidi said: Unfortunately, some media outlets do not present a true picture of the realities on the ground. These realities need to be explained to the people so that it becomes clear that the Islamic Republic of Iran, out of compassion, allowed the entry of refugees to prevent killings and insecurity in Afghanistan.
