Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): US President Donald Trump claimed in an interview with Fox News that Saudi Arabia has given the green light to join the Abraham Accord.
He said, I expect the Abraham Accord to expand soon. When Saudi Arabia joins it, the others will join as well.
He further claimed that the Saudis announced yesterday (Wednesday) that they are interested.
Trump had previously announced many times that the Saudis are interested in joining the normalization agreement, but Riyadh has made joining the agreement conditional on Israel recognizing the Palestinian state.
Trump's special envoy Steve Whittaker also announced the Trump administration's plan to significantly expand the Abraham Accords in a speech yesterday. A series of agreements signed during Trump's first term between Israel and several Arab countries, including the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco.
"We intend to expand the Abraham Accords, building on the trust and mutual respect that President Trump has built between Israel and its Arab neighbors," he said.
