Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Hassan Fadlallah, a Lebanese parliament member from the Resistance Loyalty Faction affiliated with Hezbollah, stated that the enemy's goal in this recent war was to occupy southern villages and cities. The enemy was at least seeking to occupy the south of the Litani River, expel its inhabitants, control the lands and perhaps later build settlements there. However, the steadfastness of the resistance fighters who confronted the toughest enemy army on the border and displayed a spirit of martyrdom in frontline villages and on various resistance fronts was what neutralized the goals of the Israeli invasion and prevented the occupation of the south.
According to Al-Manar, he stressed that the presence of the resistance is what has prevented the enemy from occupying the land until today; if it were not for this resistance, the enemy would have occupied our land, as it is doing now in Syria, seeking to annex the West Bank to Palestine.
Stating that those who fought and persevered in Gaza and Lebanon prevented the occupation despite the costs, pain and suffering, he stressed that the goals of the aggression have been defeated.
He noted that the post-ceasefire period is different from the 2006 period in terms of the nature of the battle, the balance of power and regional developments.
Fadlallah stressed that the resistance, despite the criticism its supporters have about the performance of the Lebanese government, has adhered to what the Lebanese government had agreed to, because the new stage has its own specific conditions.
Fadlallah said that the Israeli attacks targeting civilians and facilities are aimed at pressuring Lebanon and its people, especially in the south, to force them to emigrate and surrender. This military pressure is accompanied by domestic political and economic pressure, as the Israeli hand that destroys is aligned with the Lebanese hand in some government institutions, contributing to the blockade and sanctions, and preventing the arrival of reconstruction funds.
He stressed that a war is being waged against the south and its people with the aim of preventing the reconstruction and return of residents. This war will be fought with all strength and determination, because the issue of the reconstruction of the south is as sacred as the blood of the martyrs.
The Lebanese MP added: “We cannot accept wrong domestic policies that contradict the law and the constitution. There are those who openly violate the law in response to external pressure.”
Fadlallah went on to say that Lebanon faces two fundamental challenges: the Israeli attacks and the government’s responsibility to confront them, and the issue of reconstruction. He stressed that it is the government’s duty to assume its responsibilities and oblige the parties supporting the agreements to stop the attacks. The resistance will respond positively to any positive step by the government, as the goal is to stop the bloodshed and prevent Israeli sabotage.
He stressed that the continued presence of the people of the south in their land, their resilience and their insistence on reconstruction are part of the resistance, and that preserving the land, regardless of the cost, is a decisive choice.
Fadlallah stressed that anyone who cares about Lebanon must prioritize protecting its sovereignty and preventing attacks.
