Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): UN Secretary-General's Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in a press conference that "following the Israeli airstrikes yesterday, the Secretary-General strongly condemns the killing of civilians in Gaza, including many children."
According to Anadolu Agency, Dujarric added that Guterres also condemns "all actions that undermine the ceasefire and endanger the lives of civilians."
According to the spokesperson, Guterres emphasized the importance of guarantees for the implementation of the ceasefire and stressed that "commitments must be fully respected."
"Any action that risks harming civilians or hindering humanitarian operations must be avoided," Dujarric added.
His comments came after the Israeli army killed more than 100 Palestinians, including 46 children, in the Gaza Strip since Tuesday evening, violating the existing ceasefire agreement.
More than 68,600 people have been killed since the start of Israel's attacks on Gaza, most of them women and children. In addition, more than 170,600 Palestinians have been injured.
