Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Israel Katz, the Zionist Minister of War, issued a new order yesterday (Wednesday, Oct 30) prohibiting representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross from entering prisons where hundreds of Palestinian prisoners are being held.
According to this order, the Red Cross is not allowed to visit prisoners whose names are included in a list called the "secret list". These people are detained under the so-called "illegal combatant" law passed in 2002; a title that the Zionist regime uses for Palestinian prisoners detained from the Gaza Strip and its surrounding areas after the events of October 7, 2023.
According to Israeli media, the number of these prisoners had reached 2,454 as of July of this year.
Katz wrote in his ruling: “Based on the legal authority and the opinion of the Public Security Bureau, and in order to prevent security from being compromised, the entry of Red Cross representatives to visit these prisoners is prohibited.”
The Palestine Prisoners’ Club, in response to the decision, described it as “a new cover for the continued violation of prisoners’ rights and the continuation of torture and inhumane treatment in Israeli prisons.”
The organization also noted that the decision by the Israeli Minister of War came just hours before the Supreme Court of Justice was scheduled to hear a request to resume Red Cross visits, a hearing that has been postponed several times since the start of the war.
