Minister of Industry visits Kazakhstan’s industrial and agricultural regions; emphasizes use of Astana trade in Afghanistan
During his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Industry and Trade Noureddine Azizi visited several important industrial, agricultural and border regions of the country and emphasized the use of Kazakhstan’s successful experiences to develop similar capacities in Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced today (Thursday, Oct 30) in a press release that the Minister of Industry and Trade, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Zhuman Garin, visited the Maktaral, Shardara and Kozhatogay (Arys) regions.

During the visits, Azizi discussed with local officials and private sector officials about developing trade cooperation and exchanging technical experiences. He considered the Mektaral region as one of the important hubs of mechanized agriculture and successful industries related to agricultural products and emphasized that Afghanistan can create similar capacities within the country by utilizing Kazakhstan’s experiences in modern agriculture, processing and packaging of agricultural products.

The Minister of Industry and Trade of the country and Zhuman Garin also visited the border areas of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and visited the checkpoints and infrastructure projects related to the International Centre for Industrial Cooperation “Central Asia”. During this visit, the issue of border and customs facilities was discussed, especially the use of modern scanner systems for rapid inspection of vehicles and cargo.

The two sides emphasized the importance of accelerating the transit process and simplifying customs procedures to strengthen regional trade and increase exchanges between Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries.

At the end of the visits, the Minister of Industry and Trade expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Kazakhstan and stated that the main goal of this visit is to exchange experiences, expand economic cooperation, and use successful Kazakh models in the sectors of agriculture, industry, transit, and trade facilities for the development of Afghanistan.
