Hamas Introduces 45 Independent Candidates for Gaza Management
The Hamas movement, continuing the process of forming the Gaza Strip Management Committee, presented a list of 45 independent personalities agreed upon by Palestinian groups to Egypt today.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The media advisor to the head of the Hamas political office, Taher al-Nunu, announced today (Thursday, Oct 30) the presentation of a list of 45 candidates to form the Gaza Strip Management Committee to Egypt.

He said: "We have presented 45 names to our brothers in Egypt to assume the responsibility of running the Gaza Strip Management Committee. We welcome any of these names that are agreed upon and feel confident about these names."

al-Nunu explained that these names were determined by agreement between Palestinian groups and are all independent individuals from the children of the Gaza Strip. None of these individuals have political affiliations and all are concerned about the interests of the Gaza Strip. The common goal of all is to protect the interests of the people and the future of Gaza.

The Hamas official stressed that all groups that signed the joint statement and participated in the meetings fully agreed on these names.

The Gaza Administration Committee is an executive and temporary body that was formed after the recent two-year war in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of managing daily affairs, providing relief and reconstruction in the Strip. The committee is to be formed by independent and non-partisan figures native to Gaza, who were introduced with the agreement of Palestinian groups and Egyptian mediation.

The main duties of the committee include managing public services, coordinating with international institutions and maintaining order during the transitional period. Its legal authority will be the Palestinian Authority, and its mission will begin with an official decree from the head of the organization. This structure seeks to distance itself from political tensions and focus on the immediate needs of the people of Gaza.

The sustainability of the committee depends on regional and international support. Some observers see it as a step towards national unity, but others see it as a fleeting experiment that may not last in the face of political and security pressures.
