Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Informed sources reported yesterday evening (Friday, Oct 31) that the US Department of War has approved the delivery of long-range strategic Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.
CNN reported, citing American and European officials, that after the Pentagon, it is now the turn of US President Donald Trump to approve the delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
The report states: “The Pentagon’s assessment [of the delivery of Tomahawks to Kiev] was delivered to the White House earlier this month, shortly before Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington.”
The Ukrainian president has called for the missiles to be fired at energy and civilian infrastructure inside Russia.
The Tomahawk system has a range of approximately 1,000 miles and is typically launched from ships or submarines.
According to CNN, US defense officials said several operational issues, including training and deployment methods, were being reviewed.
This comes as Russia has repeatedly warned that the delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Kiev could lead to a “serious escalation” of tensions.
