Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: US President Donald Trump denied media reports about an attack on Venezuela on Friday evening (November 1).
He told reporters on the presidential plane that he had not yet made a decision on a military attack on Venezuela and that he did not have such a decision at the moment.
But Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, given Trump’s record of deceit and broken promises, has reached the opposite conclusion to his American counterpart’s statements.
“Trump’s denial (of the attack) has reinforced the belief among Venezuelans that the United States is plotting against Venezuela,” Maduro said. “Everything that is being done against Venezuela is to justify war, regime change and the theft of our oil wealth.”
“In the face of constant threats and psychological warfare, I ask the Venezuelan people to be calm, composed and united. We are on the path to recovery and overcoming the inequalities entrenched by the blockade and sanctions, and on the path to establishing a true and direct democracy,” Maduro added.
“If Venezuela did not have oil, gas, gold, farmland and a glorious history, perhaps it would not even be called that,” Maduro added.
Nicolas Maduro explained: "Our brothers and sisters in Latin America and the Caribbean must know that the Venezuelan struggle is a struggle for the entire American continent, and our victory is for sovereignty and peace against imperialist lies."
