Historic confession of the US Director of National Intelligence; Washington behind the regime change in the world
US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revealed Washington's plans to change the regimes ruling various countries around the world. This revelation comes at a time when the US has repeatedly claimed that it does not interfere in the affairs of other countries.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: "For decades, our foreign policy has been caught in an endless and unproductive cycle of regime change and nation-building." This is Tulsi Gabbard's opinion about the US's performance in the world for several decades.

According to Fars, this American official admitted that there was a general and uniform approach to these actions. Gabbard explained this approach as follows: "Toppling governments, trying to impose our political system on others, intervening in conflicts that we hardly understood, and ultimately being left with more enemies and fewer friends."

The policy of overthrowing regimes; A failed policy for America
The US Director of National Intelligence pointed to the extremely high costs of the country's actions worldwide and emphasized that these policies have not only not been beneficial to the United States but have also increased threats against it.

He clarified that "what was the result of these policies? Trillions of dollars spent, countless lives lost, and in many cases, the creation of more security threats."

September 11; the excuse for the US invasion
Gabbard considers this policy a clear failure after decades of US intervention in the governance of other countries, while many nations are still paying the price for these wrong policies.

The US, especially after the September 11 incident and the explosion of the Twin Towers, began various military and political actions in different regions of the world, especially in West Asia, claiming to "fight terrorism" and "spread democracy." These actions ultimately led to the further spread of poverty, chaos, and even division in many regions.

The US attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan are among the most important examples of this country's actions in West Asia. Now the media is also reporting on the US's behind-the-scenes efforts to change the government in Venezuela.

A corner of US interventions in other countries
The media has covered some of the US's efforts to change the ruling regimes of countries around the world in recent decades.
Forty years ago, the US created a foundation called the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). This center actually operated as an alternative to the regime change operations under the CIA.

Today, this institution works with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to influence more than 100 countries - including India's neighbors.
In 2010, the NED requested $100 million to promote “democracy,” focusing on Pakistan, while expanding its reach to Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the Philippines—countries important to India’s strategic interests.

In 2016, India added the NED to its Watchlist for its foreign funding of domestic institutions. While the exact amount of funding is not known, the NED has been linked to supporting a large number of NGOs and media outlets in India.

In July 2023, the NED-funded Journal of Democracy attacked India’s democratic institutions. By April 2024, the journal even warned that “India’s secular democracy could be at risk” if the BJP wins a third term.

Indonesia
In Indonesia, a leaked document in September 2023 showed that the NED was preparing for a “color revolution” by providing funding and training to opposition activists.

Bangladesh
At the same time, documents leaked by The Sunday Guardian newspaper showed that the International Republican Institute (IRI) part of the NED’s core was implementing plans for regime change in Bangladesh to counter Indian influence.

Pakistan
In Pakistan, US officials such as Donald Lowe have worked with journalists and civil society groups to advance US interests. In 2024, the NED appointed Victoria Nuland known for her role in previous coups to its board of directors, a move that once again showed that the US is seeking to destabilize the region.

Russia
In 2015, Russia also declared the NED an "undesirable" organization, accusing it of "foreign interference."
