Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Dr. Sharafat Zaman, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, says that a severe earthquake occurred in the Nakhchir region of Samangan province at around 1:00 am, resulting in a number of our compatriots being injured and a number being martyred.
Based on initial information, 260 injured people and more than ten martyrs have been transferred to hospitals so far.
It is worth noting that rescue teams are still working in the area and there is a possibility of changes in the statistics.
Dr. Sharafat Zaman, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, adds that medical teams have reached the site and, on the orders of the Leader, all nearby hospitals have been declared on alert.
