Lebanon sends army to southern borders to confront Israel after months of appeasement
After a long period of silence and appeasement, the Lebanese government deployed army forces to the southern borders to defend the country against the movements and aggressions of the Zionist regime.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): After months of tension-building and ceasefire violations by the Zionist regime, Dot Beirut has finally taken steps to confront it.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the country's army has deployed its forces in the border town of "Meis al-Jabal" in the south of the country, following worrying movements by the Israeli army near the border.

This deployment was carried out following the order of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to confront any Israeli military aggression on Lebanese territory and indicates an increase in tensions despite the existing ceasefire agreement.

According to the report, the deployment of army forces in the southern border area was carried out after observing movements of Israeli soldiers near the border. The mobilization of forces in Mays al-Jabal is a response to the Israeli forces’ move to establish alert positions near the Korum al-Marah neighborhood, which prompted Lebanon to send armored vehicles and additional troops to the area.

This border deployment follows an explicit order from President Joseph Aoun last Thursday, who authorized the army to confront any Israeli military aggression in the liberated areas of the south. This order was issued after Israel attacked the Blida municipality building, which resulted in the death of a municipal employee, an incident that further increased border tensions between Lebanon and Israel.

Despite a ceasefire agreement that came into effect in November 2024, southern Lebanon has witnessed increased tension and repeated Israeli air incursions into the country’s airspace in recent weeks.

Israel's state-run Kan network reported on Friday that Tel Aviv is considering escalating military operations in Lebanon, citing concerns about Hezbollah's military capabilities. The ongoing clashes have maintained a tense and unstable atmosphere in the border areas.

Earlier, Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed that the government is responsible for expelling the enemy, maintaining sovereignty and stopping aggression, adding, "We must strengthen our unity. We call on the government to develop a plan that the army can use to confront Israeli aggression."
