India sends food aid to earthquake victims in northern Afghanistan; medical aid is also on the way
Following the severe earthquake in the northern provinces of the country, the Indian government announced that it has sent its first shipment of food aid to the earthquake victims in these areas.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, announced the sending of this aid on Monday, November 3, by publishing pictures on the X social network, and emphasized that India stands with the people of Afghanistan.
 
Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, in a telephone call with Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki, expressed sympathy for the victims of the incident and emphasized that his country is ready to provide more aid to the victims.
 
According to Jaishankar, in addition to food aid, shipments of medicine and medical equipment are also being prepared and will be sent to Afghanistan soon.
 
This action by India comes at a time when the number of dead and injured in the recent earthquake in Balkh and Samangan provinces has reached hundreds, and there is an urgent need for humanitarian assistance in the affected areas.
