Government officials emphasize providing vocational training for addicts after treatment

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Counter Narcotics Agency issued a press release saying that the Deputy Minister for Counter Narcotics of the Ministry of Interior Affairs met with the Deputy Minister for Labor and Social Affairs.

According to the press release, the Deputy Minister for Counter Narcotics of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Khalid, met with the Deputy Minister for Labor and Social Affairs, Maulvi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, in his office.

In this meeting, the two sides discussed the situation of addicts who are handed over to their families after treatment.

The two sides emphasized that in addition to the center in the provinces, professional training and skills should be provided to addicts so that they can return to society with new skills.

The press release states that Mohammad Qasim Khalid emphasized that the return of addicts to society is not only through treatment, but also through vocational and professional training, which is necessary to provide them with employment opportunities.

The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs also assured that the Ministry is ready to plan and implement vocational and technical training programs for addicts in those provinces that have not yet been implemented, in coordination with the Deputy Minister of Counter-Narcotics of the Ministry of Interior.
