Trump vs. Mamdani: We Must Not Let a Communist Win
On the eve of the New York mayoral election, Donald Trump attacked Zahran Mamdani, a Muslim and leftist candidate in the race, urging his supporters to prevent his victory and change their votes in favor of other candidates.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Republican President of the United States urged his supporters to vote for Andrew Cuomo, a well-known figure in the Democratic Party.

While Tuesday marks the start of in-person voting for New Yorkers in the mayoral election, Trump once again commented on the race.

He, who had taken a strong stance against Mamdani in an interview with CBS News the day before, went further today.

On his Social Truth network, the President of the United States officially urged Republican supporters not to vote for Curtis Silva, the party's candidate for the New York mayoral election.

The latest polls show Mamdani leading the election, but his main rival Andrew Cuomo is trying to narrow the gap with him.

According to the Atlas Intel poll, Democratic candidate Mamdani is in the lead with 43.9 percent, followed by independent candidate Andrew Cuomo with 39 percent and Republican candidate Curtis Silva with 15.5 percent.

Trump, who recently officially threatened New Yorkers with budget cuts and described Mamdani as a communist, now openly called for support for Andrew Cuomo.

The US president wrote on Truth Social: “If communist candidate Zahran Mamdani wins the New York mayoral election, it would be very unlikely that I would provide federal funding.”

He warned New Yorkers that with Mamdani as mayor, “this once great city will have no chance of success or even survival…I firmly believe that if Mamdani wins, New York City will be a complete economic and social disaster.”

Trump claimed, “His ideas (Mamdani) have been tested for a decade and have not succeeded once. I would rather see a Democrat with a proven track record of success than a Communist with a proven track record of total and utter failure.”

Condemning Mamdani, the US president added, “He was a total failure as a city councilman and as a potential (future) mayor of the greatest city in the world, he has no chance of restoring the city to its former glory.”

Addressing his Republican supporters, Trump said, “We have to remember that voting for Curtis Silva is voting for Mamdani.”

He called on the Republican Party to support Andrew Cuomo, who initially ran as a Democrat in the New York mayoral race but is now running as an independent after losing to Mamdani.

Addressing Republicans, Trump said, “Whether you like Andrew Cuomo personally or not, you really have no choice. You have to vote for him and hope he does a great job. He can do it (but) Mamdani is not.”
