Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Pope Leo XIV criticized the expansion of the US military presence in the Caribbean Sea and near the coast of Venezuela, emphasizing that "these actions only lead to an increase in tensions and violence never brings results."
In a speech while leaving his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, he said: "The solution is dialogue."
In recent weeks, the United States has launched extensive military operations in the Caribbean Sea region, especially off the coast of Venezuela, and has used its warships and aircraft for air blockade.
US forces have also carried out a series of strikes against boats that Washington claims are used for drug trafficking.
In contrast, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has declared that all actions against his country are aimed at justifying war, regime change and plundering Venezuela's oil resources, but that Venezuela will not surrender or be dragged into chaos.
