Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: According to a press release from the General Directorate of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs of the Tehran Governorate, the visit was hosted by Vahid Golikani, Head of the General Directorate of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs of the Iranian capital.
It was stated that during this visit, the visiting delegation visited various departments of the center's administrative and identity services and became familiar with the process of providing services to migrants with valid residence documents.
Vahid Golikani, the head of the General Directorate of Foreign Nationals and Immigrants Affairs of the Tehran Governorate, referred to the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of immigrants and said at the ceremony: “Despite economic pressures and sanctions, Iran considers providing dignity-based services to authorized immigrants as its human and Islamic duty.”
He added: “Empowering immigrants in the field of employment is one of our main goals, because an empowered immigrant can play a role in the host society and contribute to the reconstruction of their country in the future.”
Golikani also emphasized that the principle of human dignity is also observed in dealing with unauthorized citizens and these individuals are guided to the border with respect and protection of human rights. He announced the establishment of a Red Crescent base in the Tehran Province/Velayat Care Center to provide health services to individuals on the verge of leaving the country.
He expressed hope that this visit will pave the way for strengthening international cooperation in more effective support for immigrants.
Golikani continued, comparing Iran's services with those of other countries, saying: "We observe the principle of respect even in the centers for collecting unauthorized nationals. To protect the dignity of mothers and children, a special room has been created in the voluntary return centers so that children can also be safe and respected."
It was said that at the end of this program, the visiting delegation also visited the Islamshahr Technical and Vocational Center and became familiar with the process of skills training and employment-oriented services for authorized immigrants.
