Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement today (Wednesday, November 5) strongly criticizing the Ukrainian president for his statements about the situation in the Komiysk region. The statements were made in response to Zelensky’s claims that Moscow’s forces were retreating in the region, while the Russian military stated the opposite of this claim.
The statement said: “The head of the Kiev regime is completely out of touch with reality and has no control over the operational situation on the ground after hearing untrue reports from [Alexander Sirsky], the commander-in-chief of the armed forces.”
“Or he is aware of the desperate situation and the real position of the Ukrainian armed forces in Komiysk and is therefore trying to hide the truth from the Ukrainian people and its Western backers at the cost of the deaths of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers.”
The Russian Defense Ministry said that Kiev may be stalling to secure and embezzle more Western aid. Moscow added that the situation for Ukrainian soldiers was only getting worse and that their commanders had given them no option to save their lives but to surrender to Russian forces.
Zelensky had previously claimed that the Russian military presence near Komiysk was limited to just 60 troops and that the Ukrainian military had a roadmap for a “clearance” of the area, which he refused to disclose.
The Ukrainian government has denied reports that Russia had surrounded its forces in two areas on the front line, which had previously suggested that more than 10,000 soldiers were trapped.
Last week, Kiev deployed its elite commandos near Krasnoarmeysk (also known as Pokrovsk), who reportedly suffered heavy losses in an attempt to strengthen their positions.
In late October, Russian President Vladimir Putin reported on the dire situation of Ukrainians near Komyansk and Krasnoarmeysk and called on Kiev to accept an honorable surrender of its besieged forces.
