Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Trump announced on Sunday that the United States should resume nuclear tests because, according to him, other countries such as Russia, North Korea and China are carrying out these measures and the United States should not lag behind.
In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that if Washington tests nuclear weapons, Moscow will be forced to take appropriate countermeasures. The Kremlin spokesman also announced that Russia has no information about the type of weapons the United States intends to test.
“Nobody knows what Trump means by a nuclear test, probably not even himself,” Medvedev wrote on Platform X. “But he is the president of the United States, and the consequences of such statements are inevitable.” He added that Russia may have to assess the advisability of conducting full-scale nuclear tests.
The tensions have intensified as a new poll shows that about half of American citizens are against their country resuming nuclear tests.
Meanwhile, the US military announced that it had launched an unwarranted Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The test, codenamed GT-254, was intended to test the readiness, reliability, and accuracy of the US nuclear arsenal.
The developments reflect heightened rhetoric and strategic tensions among the world’s nuclear powers, which could have serious implications for international stability.
