Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Trump said in a press conference on Thursday: "Israel attacked first. This attack was very, very powerful. I was responsible for it." He added: "The time Israel attacked Iranian soil was a big day for Israel."
These statements come while Trump had previously denied any US involvement in Israel's attacks on Iran. However, his recent statements indicate a clear change in position and acceptance of direct responsibility for this military action.
Continuing his contradictory positions, Trump also announced that he was ready to listen to Iran's request for the lifting of sanctions. He said: "Iran has asked if the sanctions can be lifted. Iran is under very tough US sanctions, and this has made it very difficult for them to do what they want. I am ready to hear it and we will see what happens.”
This comes at a time when Trump, since the beginning of his second term in office in January 2025, has once again put the “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran on the agenda, imposing new sanctions and launching a military attack on Iran while negotiations were ongoing.
