Khalilzad: Pakistani Foreign Minister should clarify who inside the country did not allow the implementation of the agreement with Kabul
Former US envoy to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad has reacted to Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar's recent statements about his visit to Kabul and called for transparency on the obstacles to the implementation of agreements between the two countries.
Afghanistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has made an interesting statement in the parliament, former US envoy to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad said in a tweet. He complained that he had recently traveled to Afghanistan and met with Afghan leaders.

Khalilzad added: Ishaqdar told the Pakistani parliament that during his recent visit to Afghanistan, he had met with the officials of the Islamic Emirate and reached an agreement on various issues, but after returning to Islamabad, the "system" did not allow the implementation of these agreements.

"Pakistanis, Afghans and other stakeholders should know what commitments, understandings and agreements were made," Khalilzad said. When he said “the system,” who or what did he mean? General Malek, head of the ISI? Field Marshal Asim Munir or someone else?”

He warned that it was important to clarify the truth of these claims, given the possibility of war between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
