Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to Reuters news agency and citing Al-Akhbar newspaper, informed sources in the Persian Gulf region have announced that Saudi Arabia has informed Washington through diplomatic channels that it will only be willing to normalize relations with the Zionist regime if a clear and enforceable agreement is reached on the establishment of a Palestinian state.
This stance comes at a time when some media sources have assessed the imminent visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the United States as an important step in the process of normalizing relations with Israel. However, sources close to Riyadh have emphasized that Saudi Arabia intends to avoid any diplomatic mistakes and has full coordination with Washington on the agenda before making any public announcement.
Reuters also reported that Mohammed bin Salman will not agree to normalize relations with Israel in the near future without a credible path to the creation of a Palestinian state, citing Jonathan Panikoff, former US deputy director of national intelligence for the Middle East.
The developments come as Mohammed bin Salman recently visited the United States for the first time since the murder of Saudi-American journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018.
