Eastern Afghanistan earthquake survivors live in temporary camps
Doctors Without Borders has announced that the eastern Afghanistan earthquake has left thousands of people vulnerable and many survivors are now living in temporary camps.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: One of the organization's doctors says that people in the earthquake-hit areas have fallen into despair and depression.

In a statement, Doctors Without Borders warned about the consequences of the recent Kunar earthquake in the coming winter, and announced that medical teams have so far provided medical services to more than 7,000 people in two camps in the Nur Gul district of the province.

Doctors Without Borders called the eastern Afghanistan earthquake one of the deadliest earthquakes in the country in the past decade and warned that thousands of those affected by the event have been displaced.

The organization's statement said that about 8,000 people live in two camps in the Nur Gul district of Kunar and have fallen into despair and depression. “The sound of the earthquake and the destruction still lingers in the minds of the victims,” said Nahid Noor, a doctor with the organization.

Doctors Without Borders also announced that with the arrival of the cold season, seasonal diseases such as respiratory problems, measles, and cough are expected to increase, and it has emphasized supporting the displaced.

Recent earthquakes in eastern and northern Afghanistan have caused loss of life and property, and relief organizations have repeatedly emphasized the need to support the victims.

At the same time, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center announced that, in cooperation with the Afghan Red Crescent, it has distributed 500 tents, 500 shelter packages, and a thousand cartons of dates to the earthquake victims in Samangan and Balkh.
