Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release today (Thursday, November 13) stating that Maulavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of the Ministry, met with Tariq Ali Bakhit, Deputy Head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the organization’s special representative for Afghanistan.
The Foreign Minister thanked the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for its assistance to returnees and victims of the recent earthquakes in the country and called the organization’s assistance valuable for the people of Afghanistan.
Maulavi Amir Khan Muttaqi also provided detailed information about the recent differences and negotiations between Kabul and Islamabad and emphasized that the Islamic Emirate believes in resolving differences through negotiations and dialogue.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bakhit said that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was seeking constructive relations with Afghanistan and was looking forward to further cooperation through positive interaction in various fields.
He pledged to discuss humanitarian aid for Afghan returnees with the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
This comes while last week, the third round of talks between Kabul and Islamabad, mediated by Qatar and Turkey, ended in Istanbul without any results.
