Completion of Paranda Power Plant in Panjshir; Investors invited to invest in electricity production
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, at the commissioning ceremony of the Paranda Power Plant in Panjshir province, called on all businessmen and investors to invest in the industry, especially in the electricity production sector in the country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs issued a press release today (Thursday, November 13) stating that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, considered electricity essential for the development of industry and said: “Afghanistan, from the Kunar River to the sunny plains of Helmand and Farah, and from the strong winds of Herat and Nimroz to other regions, has abundant resources for electricity production.”

He added that achieving self-sufficiency in the electricity sector is one of the basic priorities of the Islamic Emirate and fundamental efforts are underway in this regard.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, by becoming self-sufficient in electricity, Afghanistan will be able to export high-quality goods instead of importing low-quality goods, and the doors of capital inflow to the country will be opened.

In the end, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar called on traders and investors to invest in the electricity generation sector and assured that the Islamic Emirate will provide all necessary facilities.

On the other hand, Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of the Breshna Company, said that the work on the Paranda power plant had begun in 2013, but had not progressed due to corruption in the previous administration. He added that after the rule of the Islamic Emirate, serious measures were taken in the field of electricity generation in the country for the first time, and the production of electricity from wind and coal sources is an example of these measures.

It is worth noting that the Paranda power plant in Panjshir will produce four megawatts of electricity and will largely meet the electricity needs of the residents of this province.
