Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Al-Mayadeen Network has reported that it has obtained a draft resolution by European countries; a draft that contains a series of claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran and is scheduled to be presented at the upcoming IAEA board meeting.
According to Al-Mayadeen, in this draft, the Europeans have claimed that Iran must suspend all enrichment and reprocessing activities, including research and development. The text also claims that Iran has not provided the IAEA with any information about the status of its enriched uranium stocks over the past five months.
The draft emphasizes that Iran must act “carefully” and in accordance with the Additional Protocol, and that Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, must submit a report on Iran’s uranium reserves, including their storage location and quantities.
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations based in Vienna, has also announced that the IAEA Board of Governors meeting will be held from Wednesday to Friday next week (November 18 to 20).
Ahead of this meeting, Grossi issued two reports on Iran’s nuclear program, parts of which were published in the media last night.
This meeting is being held at a time when on September 26 of this year, three European countries, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, with the support of the United States, activated the snapback mechanism; a move that, according to Iranian officials, is legally, politically and strategically unacceptable and invalid.
On the other hand, Security Council Resolution 2231 also expired on October 18, 2025 (26th of October), and with its termination, the IAEA Director General’s reporting mission on verification and monitoring related to this resolution has also been terminated. According to Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Minister for Legal and International Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the IAEA Director General has no obligation or commitment to continue reporting on Iran’s commitments under the JCPOA on the agenda of the Board of Governors.
