More than eight tons of drugs and tens of thousands of pills burned in Farah
Officials of the Counter-Narcotics Deputy Office of the Ministry of Interior Affairs say that more than 8 tons of drugs and more than 76,000 pills that were seized in the past year were burned and destroyed in Farah province.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Counter-Narcotics Deputy Office of the Ministry of Interior Affairs announced today (November 15) in a press release that the relevant forces of the ministry in Farah province have burned a large amount of drugs that were discovered and seized during various operations in the center and districts of this province in the past year.

According to the press release, this action was taken based on the decree of the Leader of the Islamic Emirate and on the orders of the Farah provincial court, and the process of burning the drugs was carried out in the presence of representatives of the competent agencies.

The news release states that the destroyed materials included 8,115 kilograms of various drugs, 76,426 narcotics pills, and some alcoholic beverages, which were completely destroyed.

It is said that large quantities of drugs had been burned in a number of western provinces of the country before.

Farah province is known as one of the main drug transit routes in the west of the country, and in recent months, more operations have increased in this sector.

Some international anti-drug organizations have recently reported that the volume of discoveries and anti-drug operations in the country has increased compared to previous years.

Local officials say that the cooperation of the public in providing information has played an important role in the recent discoveries.
