Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – International Service: The leaders of these countries once again emphasized that the future of regional stability and cooperation is directly linked to the situation in Afghanistan. They warned that instability in Afghanistan could have far-reaching security and economic consequences for the entire region.
A significant package of multilateral cooperation documents among the Central Asian countries is expected to be approved at this consultative summit; documents that will focus on strengthening economic cooperation, transit projects and security coordination.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had said before the summit: “Peace and stability in Central Asia largely depend on the situation in Afghanistan. “Sustainability and stability in the region are impossible without addressing issues related to Afghanistan.”
The two-day meeting comes as developments in Afghanistan continue to cast a shadow over Central Asia’s security, trade connectivity, and development prospects, as regional leaders seek to find a way to manage these challenges by developing common approaches.
