Afghanistan
Afghanistan exported $274.9 million and imported $1.168.4 billion in May, the National Statistics and Information Office said in a statement. Afghanistan's exports increased by $45.1 million compared to last month, while imports decreased by $64.2 million, the agency said.
According to the statement, Afghanistan's exports are mainly to India, Pakistan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. In contrast, most of the country's imports came from Iran, China, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Economic experts say the increase in exports and the decline in imports could be a positive sign for Afghanistan's trade balance, although heavy dependence on imports remains one of the country's main economy challenges.
