Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati claimed yesterday (Sunday, November 16) that there was an agreement between Arab and Islamic countries regarding the establishment of an international stabilization group in the Gaza Strip.
Abdel Ati said in an interview with Al Arabiya News Network that the task of this group will be to follow up and monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Referring to the willingness of some countries to send forces to Gaza and participate in this group, he added: Egypt has achieved a great and historic achievement by successfully stopping the genocide in Gaza and will continue to work to complete the stages of the agreement.
Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, "Mohammed Al-Hindi," recently said that the formation of an international group in Gaza as an alternative to Israel is unacceptable.
He stated that the technocratic committee to be formed to govern Gaza must have Palestinian authority, stressing that it is unacceptable for Israel to have a veto right in determining the countries participating in the international group.
The media advisor to the head of the Hamas political office, Taher al-Nunu, also announced the submission of a list of 45 candidates to Egypt for the formation of the Gaza Strip Governing Committee.
al-Nunu explained that these names were determined by agreement between Palestinian groups and are all independent individuals from the Gaza Strip. None of these individuals have political affiliations and are all concerned with the interests of the Gaza Strip. The common goal of all is to protect the interests of the people and the future of Gaza.
The Gaza Governing Committee is an executive and temporary institution that was formed after the recent two-year war in the Gaza Strip with the aim of managing daily affairs, providing relief, and rebuilding the Strip.
This committee is to be formed from independent and non-partisan figures native to Gaza who were introduced with the agreement of Palestinian groups and Egyptian mediation. The main duties of this committee include managing public services, coordinating with international institutions, and maintaining order during the transition period.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister continued by announcing his country's opposition to the division of the Gaza Strip, saying: "Gaza will remain unified and will never be divided."
Stating that in the Trump plan, Gaza will remain unified, he noted: "The main goal of the efforts of Egypt and the Arab and Islamic countries is to achieve a two-state solution."
Abdel Ati, emphasizing that Egypt insists on consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza, said that the second phase of the agreement will begin after the bodies of Israeli prisoners are handed over.
