Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Tahir Hussain Andrapi, spokesman for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, announced on Sunday that Islamabad welcomes Iran's offer to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan and will not turn away from it.
According to the Dan newspaper, Andrapi said regarding Tehran’s efforts: “Iran is a brotherly and friendly country. Pakistan has always been in favor of finding peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy, and we appreciate the mediation offer of our brotherly country Iran.”
On the other hand, Russia has also offered to mediate to resolve the tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. This offer was announced by Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, who said that regional stability is a serious priority for Russia and the international community.
Stressing that Pakistan and Afghanistan are important regional partners, Zakharova called on both sides to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue. According to her, mediation can pave the way for a lasting peace and reduce security risks in the region.
On the one hand, Iran and Russia, as influential regional powers, want to play a role in resolving tensions between the two countries, and on the other hand, they are concerned about the conspiracies of the West, especially the United States, to destabilize the region.
The impact of Iran's practical action in resolving the conflicts between Afghanistan and Pakistan
In an interview with Ava, regional affairs analyst Khomeini Kohistani pointed to Iran's constructive role in resolving the conflicts between Afghanistan and Pakistan, saying: "Iran and Afghanistan are in fact members of one family and have priority over foreign parties in resolving each other's problems."
He considered the standards governing Afghanistan-Iran relations to be indissoluble and emphasized that "if security and stability, independence and freedom are to prevail in the shared geography of Iran and Afghanistan, both countries must stay away from war and tensions."
According to Mr. Kohistani, it is not possible for neighbors not to play a role in each other's security, progress, and development. Therefore, we call on Iran to take practical steps to resolve the conflicts between Afghanistan and Pakistan as soon as possible for the stability of Afghanistan, Iran, and the region.
He noted that "in the past two decades, especially during the republican regime, there have been attempts by the West to sever relations between Afghanistan and Iran, but the will of the nations, their common culture, language, and religion prevented deep rifts from forming in the relations between the two countries."
According to him, "sometimes religious discussions take place between the two sides, which undoubtedly result from the indifference of ignorant people and also from the conspiracies of the enemy, but these minor tensions have not yet caused the nations to hate each other, and relations between the two countries, despite all the stones thrown by the enemy, have continued normally until now."
He expressed satisfaction with the relations between Afghanistan and Iran over the past few years and said: “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Iran have come to the conclusion that the world of infidelity has formed a united front against all Muslims, therefore, it is necessary to cut off the hand of arrogance and colonialism from the region in any way possible and not allow them to beat the drum of discord and insecurity any longer.”
He also called on Pakistan, as an Islamic country and neighbor, to save itself from the domination of colonialism and to form a united front alongside its Muslim brothers based on the unity of the word against common enemies and to defend oppressed Muslims and the essence of Islam.
He emphasized that “colonialism and foreign intelligence continue to have influence in Pakistan’s political and military structures, seeking to destabilize the region, but it should know that just as there are common borders between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran, the enemy is also common.”
Pakistan welcomes Iran's mediation in the verification field
On the other hand, General Sediq Shinwari, an expert on political and military affairs, also said in an interview with AVA that "Pakistan has never wanted stability and security in Afghanistan and will never do so."
According to him, "The country's recent operational, intelligence and political games towards Central Asia and Afghanistan are completely transparent and dictated by outsiders with multiple layers, which have affected many issues, including the intermediaries of various countries."
According to him, "Without a doubt, if Pakistan seeks to implement Western projects in the region, the mediation of Iran and Russia will be ineffective, just like Turkey and Qatar."
Although he praised the recent mediation efforts of Iran and Russia, he said that "Pakistan's reception of these mediators seems suspicious, because this country is not trustworthy and does not make independent decisions, but rather acts mainly at the behest of America. However, it remains to be seen how Pakistan will react to the preparations of Russia and Iran in the verification field."
