Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_International Service: The US has repeatedly asked the Zionist authorities to allow the remaining Hamas forces to safely exit the Rafah tunnels, an area under the control of the Israeli army. However, the Zionist regime has opposed this request for various reasons and has deepened its differences with the US government.
The Israeli regime’s Channel 11 TV reported that no progress has been made so far in finding a solution to the Rafah crisis. Hamas forces are stationed in the Rafah, Khan Yunis and Beit Hanoun tunnels, and their exact number is unknown. The areas are under Israeli occupation, but after eight months, they have not been able to fully identify the tunnels or Hamas forces.
A member of the armed groups in Gaza, who has been activated to control the security of Rafah under the agreement of Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and former adviser to the US president, said that Hamas forces in the tunnels are ready to fight and will only leave their intended route and are not ready to surrender immediately. The source estimated that about 100 Hamas forces are stationed in the Rafah tunnels.
Kushner has previously sent a message to Israel, stressing that all Hamas forces must be transferred unarmed and through safe passage to areas under Hamas control; a move that is considered part of the demilitarization plan of the Gaza Strip.
Steve Whittaker, the US special envoy for the Middle East, is expected to meet with Khalil al-Hayyah, a senior Hamas official, to discuss the Rafah crisis. Israeli analysts predict that the parties will try to find a solution to the Rafah crisis, although Israeli sources have expressed concern that the US and Hamas will reach an agreement "beyond Israel's will."
