Kabul - The press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country announced today (Monday, November 17) that a high-level delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, headed by the special representative of this country, traveled to Kabul and met and talked with Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During this meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on strengthening and expanding relations in various fields, especially diplomatic relations and economic cooperation.
Emphasizing the long-standing and historical relations between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the Islamic Emirate seeks to develop good relations and good neighborliness with the Republic of Tajikistan and expressed hope that we will witness significant progress in relations between the two countries in the near future.
The Tajik delegation also emphasized its readiness to further strengthen relations with Afghanistan and announced that the two countries can have close cooperation in various fields.
In conclusion, the two sides emphasized the continuation of mutual meetings and visits in order to advance cooperation.
Previously, the media had reported on the visit of a high-ranking Tajik delegation to Kabul with the aim of expanding relations with the Islamic Emirate. After years of cold relations between the two countries, this visit is considered to pave the way for expanding cooperation and indicates the success of the Islamic Emirate’s foreign policy.
