Afghanistan and Turkey Agree to Establish Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment
The Minister of Industry and Trade has agreed to establish a joint working group on trade and investment in a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, and the two sides have discussed increasing the volume of bilateral trade and exporting some major Afghan items, including cotton, talc and coal to Turkey.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade today (Thursday, November 27) issued a press release saying that Nooruddin Azizi met with Turkish Minister of Trade Omar Polat on the sidelines of the fifth Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Trade Ministers’ Meeting in Istanbul.
 
The Ministry of Industry and Trade says that in this meeting, the two sides discussed increasing the volume of bilateral trade and exporting some major Afghan export items, including cotton, talc and coal to Turkey.
 
In this meeting, Nuruddin Azizi, emphasizing the attraction of more investments from Turkish companies and institutions in the country, invited the Turkish Minister of Trade to visit Afghanistan to explore investment and trade opportunities.
 
The ministry added that the two sides agreed to establish a joint working group on trade and investment, and the first meeting of this group is scheduled to be held in the near future.
 
It is worth noting that Nuruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Trade, has traveled to Turkey to participate in the fifth meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Trade Ministers in Istanbul.
