Australia’s hostile move against Iran; IRGC on alleged state terrorism list
Al Jazeera reported that the Australian Foreign Ministry announced in a hostile move and based on baseless claims that it has placed Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on a list of so-called “state sponsors of terrorism.”
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to Al Jazeera, the Australian Foreign Ministry announced in a hostile move and based on baseless claims that it has placed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on a list of so-called “state sponsors of terrorism.”

According to the report, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wang claimed that “after intelligence assessments that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has organized attacks against the Jewish community in Australia, the country is introducing the IRGC as a state sponsor of terrorism.”

The Australian government had earlier accused the Islamic Republic of Iran of involvement in two anti-Semitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne in September of this year and had given the Iranian ambassador seven days to leave Australian soil.

In a hostile move about three weeks ago, the Australian parliament had also authorized the government to add the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to the list of “state sponsors of terrorism.”

In response to these accusations, Islamic Republic officials, including Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, have denied the allegations and stressed that “anti-Semitism has no place in the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
