Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Muslim scholars, pointing out that there is no deterrent to Israeli attacks, said: “The committee responsible for monitoring the ceasefire completely sides with the enemy and ignores its aggressions, but at the same time, it follows up on the most detailed details of any suspicions and doubts about the presence of weapons or armed individuals in the south.”
The institution issued a statement and clarified: “The duties of this committee have exceeded what was determined based on the agreement and have reached the point of exerting pressure on the Lebanese government and army. The Lebanese government must review its previous decisions after these aggressions and suspend the army’s mission to disarm [Hezbollah].”
In the wake of months of tensions on Lebanon's southern borders, "Nicolas Thabit," the commander of the southern Litani River sector in the Lebanese army, announced that Israel has so far provided no evidence to prove its claim that Hezbollah has transferred weapons.
He also emphasized that Israel's continued occupation of part of Lebanese territory prevents the army from fully implementing its security plan in the southern Litani region.
On Thursday, the Israeli army claimed to have targeted several missile launch pads, an arms storage depot, and a number of Hezbollah infrastructures in southern Lebanon.
In recent weeks, the Israeli army has repeatedly claimed that weapons depots are hidden in residential areas in southern Lebanon.
This comes at a time when the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) has repeatedly warned in its periodic reports that the increase in Israeli airstrikes and exchanges of fire on the borders have increased the "risk of the situation getting out of control" and have challenged the full implementation of Resolution 1701.
The Muslim Scholars' Association, emphasizing that Israel is not implementing the agreement, believes that the US and Israel are seeking Lebanon's complete surrender and moving towards direct negotiations that will lead to normalization of relations with Tel Aviv and the elimination of Hezbollah.
The organization, while announcing its full support for all of Hezbollah's actions, noted: The situation is difficult, but the resistance is still strong and can make the right decision that benefits Lebanon.
The Association, while welcoming Pope Leo XIV's visit to Lebanon, considered it an opportunity for the leader of the Catholic Church to intervene in order to pressure countries that support Zionist terrorism, led by the US, to ensure that the regime adheres to Resolution 1701.
