Kremlin: Russia must be prepared for the worst scenario
The Kremlin spokesman, referring to the intensification of militarization in European countries and the need for Moscow to prepare for the most difficult conditions, announced that Russia is currently negotiating only with the United States on the issue of Ukraine.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the TASS news agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that, given the militarization process in the West, Russia must be prepared for the worst, although it must still hope for the best outcome.

Peskov said last night, Friday, in an interview with the First Russian Television Channel: "Of course, one must want peace, but at the same time it is necessary to prepare for worse conditions and even war. One must always be prepared for the worst, but hope for the best outcome."

In his opinion, Europe's unbridled militarization has made the prospect of a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis more difficult. He added that Russia is not willing to publicly discuss the process of negotiations on Ukraine, explaining that the details of the decisions made should be determined during talks without publicity.

Peskov: Vitkoff to come to Moscow to meet with Putin in the middle of the week
The Kremlin spokesman announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with US President's special envoy Steve Vitkoff in the middle of the week. Dmitry Peskov added that the exact date of the meeting will be announced later.

Vladimir Putin said a day ago that Russia is ready to seriously consider the US plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis with the American side. He stressed that representatives of the two countries will discuss each of the proposed points at the negotiating table in detail.

Kremlin: Negotiations on Ukraine are being held only with the US

Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov recalled that Moscow acts on the basis that at the current stage, negotiations on Ukraine are being held only with the US. "At this stage, we are only talking about negotiations with the Americans," he said in a television interview.

Peskov added that by the time the American delegation arrives in Moscow, Russia will have the necessary information about the agreed-upon clauses of Donald Trump's peace plan. According to him, a lot of information is currently being published about the Ukrainian peace plan, which mostly does not correspond to reality.

He stressed that the most important issue for Russia is Donald Trump's peacekeeping mission and the efforts of the team appointed by him, and Moscow is preparing for these contacts.

Ukraine-US talks likely to become more difficult due to corruption scandal
The Kremlin spokesman also expressed the opinion that the major corruption scandal in Ukraine may complicate the process of the country's negotiations with the United States. "It is difficult to predict the exact situation at the moment, but this scandal can really complicate the process of Kiev's negotiations with the United States," he said in the interview.

Dmitry Peskov, answering a question about the dismissal of Andriy Yermak from the post of Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian President, noted that the country is currently in a deep crisis. He explained: “There are events in Kiev that indicate the deepest political crisis, a crisis that has been caused by corruption and related scandals. These corruption scandals are related to the money that Western countries provided to Ukraine to purchase equipment for military conflicts.”

According to him, now both in the United States and in European countries the question of what the future fate of the “Kiev regime” will be is being raised. Peskov added that the consequences of this situation could be very different and it is still impossible to predict where this process will lead. He noted that the inspection of the house of the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian President shows that the corruption scandal in Ukraine is spreading, emphasizing that the consequences of this scandal for the Ukrainian political system could be very serious.

Peskov: Zelensky faces legitimacy problem

The Russian president's press secretary also pointed to the fact that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is indeed facing a legitimacy problem, as well as an unwillingness to hold elections and respect the constitution. Peskov stressed that this problem is directly related to Zelensky's refusal to hold elections and respect the country's constitution.
